Shesa naga or Ananta naga is a holy and sacred serpent in Hindu mythology. According to Hindu epic Mahabharat, Shesa is the son of Kashyap and Kadru. Shesa is step brother of Garuda and Aruna and Shesa is eldest brother among them. The main role of Shesa in Hinduism is he is the bed of Vishnu and the carrier of Universe on his hood. When Shesa was born he worshipped Bramha for hoon and he worshipped so hard that he got thin and is skin became dry . Seeing this Bramha gave a boon to Shesa and he offered Shesa to carry earth on his hood and maintain pagal. In this mythology it has been mentioned that Shesa has number of heads and each head is carrying universe. Shesa means endless in Hinduism.
