In Mythology:
We have seen so many Greek Gods and Goddess with super natural, cool and interesting powers in movies . And from the three main Gods, Poseidon is one of them. Poseidon is the Greek mythological God and Poseidon is the god of sea and horse and storms. Poseidon is the twelve children of Cronus and Rhea. After swallowing by Cronus with all his siblings except Zeus , rescued by Zeus after he killed their father Cronus. And this led to the fallen of Titan age(superior to God). And the earth divided between Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. Zeus took sky , Hades took underground and Poseidon kept Sea of the earth.
Poseidon is shown with a trident in which he was commanding the sea and was making waves and springs. And it is also shown he was on chariot of sea horses. So may be for this he was being said as the God of Horse. But the main and important role was he is the God of Sea. Poseidon has so many children and illegal wives, because to whomever he was watching he was being charmed by her beauty and wanted to intercourse with her. Some famous are Medusa and the Goddess of harvest and agriculture. His sons are Pegasus, Theseus and Some sea monsters.
The story between Poseidon and Demeter(goddess of harvest) is very interesting. When Poseidon fell in love with her and he captured Demeter , thus the father of Demeter requested to Zeus for escaping of Demeter and Zeus made a plan that in a year Demeter will stay 9 months in earth and 3 months she will stay with Poseidon. And a folklore was in these three months no harvest and agriculture will be on earth, it was said as winter season.
Poseidon is shown as a greatest God in Greek culture, He is often shown in Atlantis and might be the destruction of Atlantis. so many movies on Poseidon have released on Hollywood. And some people are still believe the existence of Poseidon
