The battle of Thermopylae | King leonidas | King Xerxes

 King Leonidas 1:

Leonidas is a historical and heroic king and soldier in the ancient history of Greece. This is not a myth he was real king of a small village in Athens. His name means the son of a lion, because of his bravery. And the villagers of that place called themselves SPARTANS because their village's name was known as Sparta. Leonidas is known for the second battle of Thermopylae fought between 300 Spartans , other native Greek soldiers with Xerxes the great. it was being reported by some historians that when in their tribe sick or infant babies were born , they were throwing them from hill to ground. Because they were believing that the sick will be the problems for Sparta in future and they will be among the weakest one. Spartans had a belief that and a folklore in Greece that they were the descendants of Greek myth heroes Hercules and Cadmus. Because Spartans were furious in battles and for their enormous bravery in fields. Leonidas 1 is the greatest king in Spartan history and in Greece also. 

The Battle of Thermopylae:

The second battle of Thermopylae is one of a historic battles in world history. It was the greatest battle of world at that time. Known as The great battle of Thermopylae. This battle was fought in 480 B.C. at Thermopylae of Greece near Colonos hill. This battle took three days to finish with the victories of Persian king Xerxes 1. The Greeks were approx. 7100 in number including 300 Spartans and other braver Greek native soldiers and on the other side there were a massive army about 1 million of Persians. In the first day there was a way to enter Thermopylae which was guarded by Spartans , Very first day Spartans killed thousands of Persian archers and soldiers with the loss of maximum 3 Spartans. But the wind changed in second day when one of the Greek named as Ephialtes of Trachos betrayed them and showed the way to surround the hill Colonos. Actually this narrow way was used only by shepherds. In the last day archers surrounded to Spartans and Thesians and other Greek soldiers. And Xerxes commanded to rain arrows on them till a single Athenian will be alive. In this result  Xerxes gained the victory over Athenians.

This battle placed in Golden letters in  world history. And all this was covered by Greek ancient Historian Heredotus. A famous movie names 300 has been released in 2007. It shows how brave the Spartans were. And they showed number is nothing in war when you have full of confidence and courage.
