Lernaean Hydra(Myth)

 Lernean Hydra or Hydra was a serpent and demon in  mythology.  This character has placed himself both in Roman and Greek myth. According to Hydra it was blessed by Greek Goddess Hera and it's blessing was it will destroy anything and everyone which would come on his path ( it means destruction to mankind). It was living in a lake is called Lerna and lerna was an entrance door to underworld inside water. Hydra had his own world and it's breath was containing poisonous gas and it's blood was full of venom. Hydra was child of Typhon(father of all demons) and Echidna(mother) . 

Hydra killed by Hercules in his 2nd of 12th labour. Whenever Hercules was chopping it's head , it was replacing with two new heads . So with the help of his nephew He was chopping it's head and was burning that part. And it was being said that Hydra called a crab demon for it's help but brave Demi god Hercules killed both . And dipped his arrows in venom blood of Hydra for his upcoming labours.

It is considered to having 3 or 9 heads of Hydra.


Hydra is a famous character in Greek and Roman myth. In movie of Hercules It is represented. That's all about Lernaean Hydra.
