In Greek mythology Medusa was a monster after she got cursed by Athena. Medusa was a normal woman and was the most beautiful woman at her time. She was a devotee of goddess Athena and she was a priestess of Athena's temple. The condition was Medusa will be always virgin till she is serving Athena. Many people were coming to see Medusa in that temple to marry Medusa but as per condition she was denying to everyone. Medusa was thinking that her hairs are more beautiful than Athena and this led Athena and she started Jealous of Medusa. One day the sea God Poseidon came to see Athena and he saw Medusa and he got attracted to Medusa and told her his proposal but like to everyone she denied to all his proposals.
In the end Poseidon got angry and raped Medusa in that temple. When Athena saw Medusa on her state, she cursed her that her hairs will be like snake and whoever she see will turn into Stone statues. After a long time as I have written in my last blog Perseus beheaded her and released her from that cursed life.
This was a myth and story according to Greeks. I will post myths on Greeks in future.
