Garmr:
We have seen a giant wolf in the movie of Thor: the Ragnarok. According to this furious creature, It is a mythical creature in old Norse mythology. And it was the guardian of a Norse place Hel. This Hel place is protected by Odin's daughter Hel. In Norse myth Hel is the place similar to hell and a soul travels through Hel to Odin's palace.
Garmr is a big wolf and king of Hounds in Odin's realm. And he is also veichle of Hel(Hella). In Viking stories it has been said that when Ragnarok will come in Odin's realm , Odin will be killed by Garmr and in that process Garmr will be killed by Satan. Satan is bringer of Ragnarok. And after Ragnarok Odin will born and he will create everything like before. Garmr is said as Vernir . Vernir is also a big Hound and son of Loki and giantess mother. Garmr has just few role in Norse stories.
Cerberus:
Cerberus is also a big dog but it is a creature in Greek mythology. He is offspring of monster Echidna and Typhon . And sibling of Hydra about which I have already written . Apart from Hydra he has so many siblings all are monsters. In Greek Mythology Cerberus is the guard of Hades the God of hell. He was standing in front of Hades' palace front gate. He is bearing with three heads and a furious creature in Greek stories. He is defeated by Hercules in between his 12th labor.
In both these mythology these Hounds have special character and respected behaviour to their Gods.
